Ellis Pitt

Ellis’ career started life as a product designer, from which he moved quickly into senior management and company leadership positions, each of these roles came with ambitious growth plans. All of these companies were subsequently sold / acquired, giving their founders and owners substantial returns. Over the last 25 years, he has drawn on this experience in his work across numerous sectors in the UK to deliver accelerated and breakthrough business and organisational performance using design and innovation methodologies.

Amongst Ellis’ clients are UK manufacturers, retailers, service companies and education including Lakeland, Richard Burbidge, Paperchase, Episode, Aberystwyth and Lancaster Universities. Further afield Ellis has worked with Eastern European manufacturers.

His experience of working with Design Council clients is equally broad and includes logistics, high-volume furniture, professional services, Tier 1 automotive, food and drink production and retail, cutting-edge technology, construction materials and specialist equipment manufacturers. Projects he’s led with three recent clients, Balance Accountants, Croots and White Logistics, have been recognised with two gold and one silver in the Design Business Association’s ‘Design Effectiveness Awards’.

Ellis currently holds a Board position as special adviser to a rapidly growing technology company.

Ian Oliver

Ian started his career as an Engineer at Jaguar Cars, initially designing and developing vehicle control systems in the UK & US for both Ford and Jaguar. From there he moved on manage teams of engineers and software developers working across several vehicle lines and brands. Ian then progressed to lead and manage cross-functional teams of 200+ engineers and designers, delivering new vehicles to the Jaguar/ Land-Rover product range, most notably Jaguar ‘XK’, ‘Discovery’ and ‘Range Rover’ models.

After nearly 10 years at JLR, Ian moved into consulting, initially managing cross-functional client/consulting teams carrying out M&A activity. From there he went on to specialise in designing marketleading customer propositions and target operating models that equipped organisations with the skills, processes and organisational designs to realise their strategic ambitions. Ian has worked with both SME and corporate clients in a broad range of sectors, from manufacturing to financial services.

Currently, Ian is leading projects which range from designing a target operating model for a UK high street bank to developing a product development strategy for a high-volume, UK furniture manufacturer.
